3 guacamole & dips for Cinco de Mayo

Holy guacamole! Cinco de Mayo it’s just around the corner and if you’re planning on hosting a party, or just want to treat yourself with some delicious appetizers, check out these guac and dip recipes we have for you.

Cinco de Mayo it’s all about Mexico, so we’ve selected 3 recipes that include the ingredients that Mexicans love and actually eat in their normal diet.

Let’s get this food party started!


Traditional guacamole recipe


  • Ripe Mexican avocados
  • Minced onion
  • Minced jalapeno peppers
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Olive oil
  • Minced garlic
  • Salt
  • Diced tomato
  • Minced fresh coriander

*You decide the quantity of every ingredient. The best you can do is to mash the avocados first, and depending on the size of that paste, you determine the amount of the rest of the ingredients.


-Mash the avocados in a bowl with the help of a fork.

-Began adding the lime juice, salt and minced garlic. Mix it and taste it until you like the combination.

-Afterward, add the onion, tomato and coriander and mix.

-Finish adding some olive oil and mixing everything again.

 Guacamole Cinco de Mayo

Super Easy Spicy Black Bean Dip


  • 1 large garlic clove
  • ½ small shallot
  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 chipotle chili
  • ¼ tsp. cumin
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • ½ lime juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Cilantro and sour cream for garnish


-Combine all the ingredients plus ¼ of a cup of warm water in a food processor.

-Puree until smooth and creamy.


Mouthwatering Jalapeno Bacon Dip


  • 2 fresh jalapenos
  • Cream cheese
  • 6 strips of bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, plus 1/4 cup divided
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika


-Preheat oven to 350 F.

-Cut the stems off the jalapenos, remove all the seeds you want and chop them. The amount of seeds you keep in the jalapenos will determine the level of spiciness. You can remove all of them, or just left a few.

-In a food processor add the chopped jalapenos, cream cheese, 1 cup parmesan cheese, sour cream, bacon, smoked paprika, and garlic powder and process until well combined.

-Pour into a baking dish. Garnish with remaining cheese and bacon.

-Bake at 350 F until cheese is melted (around 20 minutes).

-Serve warm.
