Honey glazed salmon

Salmon has a high content of healthy fats, in addition to vitamins and minerals that make it one of the best animal foods we can give to our body.

Although there are lots of recipes of salmon with honey out there, we like this one by Damn Delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 4 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of regular flour
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method:

-Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

-Season salmon with salt and pepper. Cover each fillet with 1 tablespoon of flour and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of honey.

-Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Put one by one of the salmon filets in the pan and sear both sides until golden brown (about 1or 2 minutes per side).

-Place them in the oven and bake for another 8-10 minutes.

-Serve immediately and enjoy.

 

Honey turmeric chicken

What about adding honey to one of the best superfoods that exist? This honey turmeric chicken will blow your mind at the same time that will fuel you up with energy and nutrients. The best of all is that you will have it ready in only 15 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken pieces with skin
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce or soy sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

 Method:

-Stir the honey, oyster or soy sauce, turmeric powder, garlic, cayenne pepper and salt to create a gravy, and cover all of the chicken pieces with it.

-Heat up a big pan and add the oil. Put the chicken on the pan and cook on both sides until they turn golden brown.

-Serve immediately and enjoy.

 

Honey Mustard Glazed Carrots

Take your carrot side dish to the next level with this super easy recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sliced carrots
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 4 teaspoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • Salt to taste

Method:

-Place carrots and 1/2 cup of water in a medium pan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.

-Reduce heat, and simmer until liquid almost evaporates (about 6 minutes). Partially cover the pan so that the carrots retain some texture.

-Add the butter, honey, mustard, and salt, and cook 3 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly.

-Serve and sprinkle with chives.

*You can use this dressing on any root vegetables and turn them into a delicious side dish.
